on the back label, the french translation is - "famous for its elegance, the second wine of château coutet is made with the same concern for perfection as the first wine, while not rivaling with it. chartreuse de coutet is produced from an old vineyard, planted with a majority of sémillon (75%), some sauvignon (23%) and muscadelle (2%) varieties. this gives a very smooth wine as well as an intense aromatic richness. it is very apparent that this wine owes it charm to the traditional methods used, hand-picked with successive selections, fermentation and ageing in barrels: all these elements combined make this a great sauternes.
