a convent in saint estephe, founded in 1662 is the area that became well known today as chateau meyney. the vineyard extends over 50 hectares on the hillsides overlooking the gironde estuary.
any of the grapes harvested are also bottled at the chateau. the soil, composed of deep clay and resting on a limestone base, the wine draws from the rich fruit flavors and a dense long finish, allowing great aging potential. made up typically of 61% cabernet sauvignon, 10% petit verdot, 26% merlot and 3% cabernet franc.
