influenced by the mildness of the nearby dordogne valley, protected by the surrounding city walls this very ancient property of quinault dating from the roman times benefits from an exceptionally favorable microclimate.
the warm gravel soils enable the grapes to attain a remarkable maturity. the vineyard of old vines is planted to 70% merlot, 20% cabernet sauvignon and 5% malbec which give the wine its soft, smooth, classy characteristics as well as its firm structure.
the traditional vinification method is conducted under very strict control so as to bring out the best elements of this exceptional vineyard site and develop the unique potential of refinement and concentration as found in the greatest wines.
